When “Good Enough” Isn’t Enough

A cherished quote about self-trust

“The need for safety, predictability, and control is so damn deep. So deep that even a life that we KNOW we don’t want can be hard to leave when it at least offers some familiarity and predictability.

The unknown can be terrifying.

In my experience, the difficulty of this can be even GREATER when the life you’re leaving is actually not that bad. On most levels it’s good. Others might even tell you it’s great! But something in you knows it’s not the full thing. It’s not all there is.

And it’s not coming from a ‘maximizing’ place in you. It’s coming from you listening to something deeper. Something that says, ‘this is out of alignment with the truth that wants to come through at this stage of my life.’

This is listening to your Dharma. Your soul.

You know it’s true when you don’t even care about improving the external variables. You just want something that feels RIGHT for you.

Trust this.

Or at least trust it to take you into a deeper inquiry with your soul.

It’s a sacred inquiry, and it’s the opposite of betrayal.”
